The first thing you need to do is to locate a supplier or suppliers for the ingredients. You will need Methanol, Synthetic oil, Castor oil, and if you prefer Nitromethane, not really necessary though but seems to be the norm here in North America, but I must admit that it does add power to the fuel by adding Nitromethane. I have flown both in Europe and North America and found that a lot of RC pilots in Europe do not use Nitro. And of coarse the Nitromethane is the most costly of the ingredients.
You will also need something to measure the ingredients with, measure by volume not weight and we like to use the metric system, measuring cups that are graduated in milliliters are readily available up to a liter or so in size. Keep all measuring containers clean at all times.
Here is a fuel mix for one US gallon, ( in metric)
One US gallon is equal to 3785.4 milliliter. or ( 3 liters 785 ml )
Total oil content........(..20%. of 37854 is 757 ml ) Klotz synthetic 75% of 757 is 568 ml
Castor oil .... 25% of 757 is 189 ml
Klotz Synthetic oil..........568 ml.
Caster oil.......................189 ml.
Methanol ......................3028 ml.... or ( 3 liters and 28 ml ).
If you prefer a fuel mix with 10% Nitromethane use formula below.
Klotz Synthetic 568 ml
Castor Oil.......................189 ml ( Total oil contents is 20% )
Methanol.........................2649 ml.....( or 2 liters and 649 milliliters )
Nitromethane...................378 ml To
mix more than one gallon multiply "ml" by
number of gallons wanted.
