The Eastern Irrigation District and the Irrigation
Branch of Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development have teamed up to investigate
various issues concerning water allocation. Research projects have been developed to
explore the different facets of water use at the farm level. This web page is part of a "Farming for the Future" Demonstration Project. Much of
the research work in the Eastern Irrigation District, which began in 1996, is being
conducted in a watershed around Rolling Hills, a hamlet in the southeast Alberta. This
web-site is used to provide everyone involved in the project, as well as any visitors,
with updated weather analyses, project results and useful insights.
