Alliance Pipeline OGC is representing the AFGA on another pipeline (See Pipelines) that will be subject to National Energy Board and Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency approval. OGC participated in a Biological Field Studies Review Meeting on November 22, 1996
Canadian Endangered Species Protection ActOGC was invited to the Press Conference in Ottawa that accompanied the tabling of this legislation on October 31, 1996. Fact Sheets are usually supplied to the press but "Endangered Species Recovery Planners" were made available for the press to interview. OGC was scheduled to make a presentation to the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development on November 26, 1996 in Edmonton, Alberta but the hearing was cancelled. We will post our response to the legislation.

Burrowing Owl Habitat Selection and Population DynamicsWe are working on a experimental design that may be part of a MSc. thesis. The following studies are proposed, habitat selection, burrow availability, nest site productivity, human disturbance and telemetry (radio tracking). We will post our progress.
Prairie Rattlesnake StudyWe are working with Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta Environmental Protection, University of Calgary and Environment Canada in developing a long term study (five years?, MSc. thesis?) that will incorporate applied management applications for rattlesnakes in Alberta and Canada. We will post further developments
Loggerhead Shrike TrailOur order for 1000 Thorny Buffaloberry "seedlings" has been placed to complete the next portion of the Trail from Brooks, Alberta to 50 km East within the CP Railway right of way. The seedlings will probably arrive in early May 1997, stay tuned for details.
