Village Mayor, Harold Unruh, says the compassion for their community is what brought people out on a cold snowy night in December for a "town meeting." The idea of the meeting was to brainstorm ways that Rosemary could enhance their community and maintain solid growth in the years to come. After much discussion they decided that one of Rosemary's assets and possibly one of our liabilities is the fact that we are a passive community and have not yet spent enough time to promote our attributes. We feel the time has come to share our exciting lifestyle with people that like the beauty of rural living.
One of the jewels of our community is our school system. We offer kindergarten through grade 12 education and are proud to state that we have one of the highest grade point averages in all of Alberta. Furthermore, the school is within walking distance to all village residents. The school is focal to our community spirit, a variety of sports, extra curricular and social events being offered year round.
The Village also offers a very active Ag. society, a volunteer fire department, community volunteer waste management, an active seniors' association, and has several religious denominations. Centrally located between Calgary, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge and only 20 minutes from Brooks on a major highway. Four golf courses are within a 25-mile radius. Rosemary has a recently upgraded infrastructure system which includes a water processing plant, a sewer handling facility and a million-dollar recreational complex. Further, Rosemary is located on the way to Dinosaur Park, World Heritage Site, which hosts 60,000 visitors per year.
Rosemary offers ideal location and conditions for potential business development. We would like to welcome anyone interested in pursuing a business venture or anyone who is interested in setting up a residence in our community. Currently, the Rosemary business community is composed of Harold Unruh's R & W Furniture, Harry's General Store, RM Auto Supply, Johnson Bakery and Coffee Shop, Richard's Prairie Welding, Heritage Studio, Lepp's Sod Farm, Goose'n' Gander Gallery, Good Looks Hair Salon, a post office, and an Alberta Treasury Branch Agency. Potential exists for cottage industry and crafters. Rosemary is an ideal place to live and do business. The community is friendly and well kept. Make a visit to Rosemary one of your New Year's Resolutions!
