BROOKS PUBLIC LIBRARY 1997 - 1998 PROGRAMS
Each year the Brooks Public Library has a summer reading and activity program for children ages 6 to 12
years. The theme for the 1998 program is 'Take me out to the Library' which was developed by the
Chinook Arch Regional Library System.
PRE-SCHOOL STORYTIME
The library offers pre-school storytime program for children ages 4 to 6. This program
runs in for a six week sessions on Wednesday afternoon from 2:15 to 3 pm. There is a nominal
fee to cover the costs of supplies and a party.

Next summer we will be celebrating North America's favorite summer pastime - BASEBALL.
Check out materials from home base (the library), sign up for a dugout pass and join team members for a summer of fun.
Collect baseball cards for the books you read and become a big league reader by the end
of summer.
COMPUTER CLUB
During the summer months the library offers a computer club for school aged children. The
children can play games, write messages, search the many CD ROMS the library has and 'on occasion' surf the net!
There are four public access computers available for use and a staff member to help them
enjoy their computer experiences.
FAMILY FUN NIGHTS
The library hosts approximately eight family entertainment evenings a year. Professional entertainers
from throughout Alberta give a variety of performances. Clowns, magicians, puppeteers,
storytellers, musicians and actors provide quality family entertainment. There is no charge for this service and everyone
is welcome.
