Fly Fishing ClubPhoto of our guest, Jeff from Atlanta, smiling all the way about
the minnow he has just caught and saying "It's a dirty job but someone
has to do it". Great to have had him here and hopefully he will return.
One of our newest members, Alan, attending our pike fishing clinic and
catching his first pike on a fly rod. The grin says it all and we
think that because of the introduction to fly fishing, Alan's sense of
being on time is going to suffer badly. Also has the makings of a
good sunburn eh !
| Who says August is too hot for catching BIG PIKE. Have a look at this minnow that Alan is holding. OK, as a special treat for those fellows at the Grasslands Maintence Department, time to get your wallets out and let the moths out and pay UP. The boss has got you all . |
Kiyoshi had a banner three and one half days fly fishing the famous
Rainbow Alley. He won't forget this trip for a life time! He
landed every species of trout available; rainbow, cutthroat,
lake trout, bull trout, whitefish and steelhead! Yes, he landed a 34
inch steelhead kelt, and a ten pound lake trout in the alley!
He also landed a couple of 4 and 5 pound bull trout. The fry fishing
was hot and heavy most of the time, and he took advantage of
the northern late nights to fish until 11 PM every night. All fish
were released carefully, pictures taken except for the steelhead
kelt.

This is a picture from the lodge of one of KK's smaller rainbow trout about 22". Unfortunately the guide released accidentally the Steelhead before pictures were taken. It jumped overboard. Guide is suppose to send sworn statement. |
| Not all Big trout are from exotic locations. This is Nigel's trout caught at our local stocked fishing pond. Since there is only one pond locally you will have to guess the location. It was caught using a trolled fly about the last week of May. Weight is 8 1/2 pounds. A REAL NICE FISH. CONGRATULATIONS NIGEL. |
