This is a story of earth shattering importance and worse yet I have to
be a witness to the event. On Sat. May 20, when a certain individual
should have been guiding, he was fishing instead of paying attention to
our guest. His story is that he was doing survey work to find a new
fishing spot. Well, the Clive Schaupmeyer finally managed to catch
his first 20 lb pike ( length 41" ) in 43 years of fishing on a fly.
He did not do the proper type guide thing and turn the rod over to his
guest. All the guest, Gerry Mezei, and I saw was white of an
ear to ear smile. Our guest and I were very happy to witness this
event. You will notice that in the upper photo Clive has some doubts
about reaching in that little mouth to retrieve his precious Great Pumpkin
fly. Happy to report both fish and fishermen survived the ordeal
very well. Again congratulations on joining the 20 lb club. More
pictures of event and our guest's success to follow. |

Our Guest, Gerry Mezei, who so graciously put up with the antic of his guides displays his first fly rod caught pike. From the smile on his face I doubt whether it will be his last time at trying for the fresh water sharks. |
Just
so you know I do exist ( This is me , Ken ( your editior ) - first
picture on myself on the web ever ) , being the good guide and host that
I am I let the other fellows have a crack at the big fish. HA, if
you believe that line, have I got a deal for you. |
