My first interest is my family but I am not going to post their picture or interests for a couple of reasons.  They like their privacy and that wish should be respected.  Secondly I am very proud of my wife and daughter but it would be best if they presented their own interests.

    My second interest is in fishing as perhaps the pictures at the top of the page would indicate.  In particular I like to fly fish and tie my own flies.  Building fly rods , landing nets and most recently fish carving, and watercolor painting are some of the additional items in the area of fishing that interest me.     My third interest is in operating or being operated by a very large and right now small but friendly Labrador retrievers.  The dogs are definitely part of the family not only as a pets but also my hunting partners par excellence. In order to make life a bit easier for the older fellow a new puppy has arrived in the family.  A recent arrival has been a second female lab puppy, almost a carbon copy of the big guy.  She has been busy training both me and the older dog.  At this point I don't know if she is making life easier for the older fellow as she is pestering him something fierce.  He seems to like being the head of a pack of two and has accepted her.    Another interest of mine is hunting in particular bird hunting with some very good and dear friends. Annually a group of us get together for at least one day of pheasant hunting.  To say that the number of birds bagged would be a measure of the success for the day would be very misleading.  It is a time for old friends to get together and rib each other about getting older together.  I have a page showing the group in its last annual hunt. I hope that anyone viewing the page will take it in good humor.

    I am also interested in building things out of metal and in order to pursue my hobby, my garage is equipped with a lathe and milling machine.  Some of my projects have included the building small model gas engines, steam engines, rocket engines plus other inventions and yes they even work sometimes. Other interests include flying, competitive shooting both pistol and rifle, camping, photography, painting and  rebuilding antique motorcycles and engines to name a few.
