Seeding depth for forage seeds is very important.
Often, farmers tend to seed too deep into a soft seed bed.
Seed beds for small seeds should be VERY firm.
When walking across the field to be seeded,
your footprints should NOT be deeper than the soles on your shoes.
Seeding rates depend on the type and variety of crop, and
whether or not the crop is for seed production, or for hay.
