The 1998 FCAT administration establishes total score scales for the purpose of setting achievement level standards. Later in 1998, several achievement levels will be defined for each total score scale. These achievement levels will identify several categories of student achievement, from lowest to highest, measured by the test. These achievement levels will be set during the summer and fall of 1998. Beginning in 1999, the percentage of students who achieve at each level on the scale will be reported for schools, school districts, and the state. Growth in student achievement will be measured each year by comparing the proportion of students in each achievement category from year to year. |
