Benchmark Computer Services is a corporate partnership started in 1987 by George Armstrong & Dr. Bob Wickson PhD. to provide resonable cost but high end clone computer equipment to local persons that didn’t get the service required from vendors in Calgary.

After reviewing the brands available, Hewitt Rand was chosen as the primary line.The Hewitt Rand corporate philosophy most closely matched the Benchmark Teams own, namely that of better than average quality, coupled with unsurpassed support. Although other brands such as NEC and HEWLITT PACKARD and RAVEN are sold in complimentary fashion, Benchmark centers itself on Hewitt Rand, because of quality, without the high price associated with name brands.

Benchmark Computer Services Ltd. is one of Hewitt Rands oldest customers, and one of its most stable.. In recent times, Benchmark has expanded to purchasing from Hewitt Rand in Missisauga Ont, for supply to Virali International Inc., a partnership of Benchmark and another, to supply customers in Central America and the Caribbean. We at Benchmark secured sole distribution rights for Hewitt Rand hardware for the region in 1995. This diversification enables us to know the market better, and make even better purchase decisions on behalf of our customers.

The fact that our equipment is CSA certified, and produced under the strict guidelines of ISO 9002 standards has enabled Hewitt Rand to become major government suppliers across Canada and the US. As well, this has lead to major milestones such as being NOVELL certified. The three Hewitt Rand plants in North America give us at Benchmark a tremendous advantage in leading edge knowledge. Hewitt Rand has offered Bob & George ongoing education in new products and techniques of manufacture, which compliment other fields of expertise available in-house.

We at Benchmark are qualified Microsoft Resellers, as well as resellers for most major software companies. We are proud of the fact that our efforts at service and technical support have resulted in repeat sales to many customers who are using the edge that our programs have given them to expand in a competitive world.
