Basics of BeeKeeping

The Honey that has flowed out of the Extractors is now pumped out of the Holding tank along with the wax cappings that fell from the UnCapper, and is forced through a Heat Exchanger. This Heat Exchanger warms the Honey to appx. 130 Fah. where it then is pumped into a Honey/Wax seperator machine called a SpinFloat.

The job of the SpinFloat is to seperate the honey from the wax by spinning at a high speed. When the honey and wax cappings flow into it the force created by the spinning causes the lighter wax to be forced to the inside of the spinning drum while the heavier honey stays to the outside. From here the machine releases the pure honey to another holding tank while the wax is cut up into fine pieces and falls out the bottom of the machine. The Honey in the holding tank is now pumped into other larger storage tanks where the honey is eventually either put into 45 Gallon barrels for bulk shipping or sold to those who would like to by some small quantities for themselves.
