The primary purpose of this Index is to show the Place of Birth of those persons from the Brooks area whose death was reported in The Brooks Bulletin, The Chronicle or the Calgary Herald and includes the persons’ names, date of birth and date of death. 

The earliest birth dates occur in the mid eighteen nineties.

The range of death rates will expand as more Obits are added.

Most of the information has been extracted from Obituaries, but other items from the Brooks newspapers have also been used. Some birth dates have been calculated using the person’s age at the time of death. Where dates are unknown, xxxx.xx.xx have been used to indicate year, month and day (yyyy.mm.dd).

The names of the deceased are arranged in alphabetical order and include, wherever possible, other surnames, such as maiden names, by which the individual was known. The maiden or other surnames are included individually in the alphabetical listing and are followed, enclosed within parenthesis, by the name used in the Obituary heading.

PLEASE NOTE: ONLY those persons whose place of birth is known are included in the Index.

This Index is not a complete compilation but additions may be made periodically.
