Dial Up
Instructions- For Windows XP
What You will need to do this: An EIDNet Dial Up account, username and password. A computer with a dial
up modem connected to an active phone line. Windows XP loaded and logged in to
an administrator account. Print Out this Page.
-Click Start Button – On bottom left hand side of screen .
-Click Control Panel
-Control Panel Window will open.
If the whole screen is blue then click on “Network and Internet
Connections” and then click on “Network Connections”
OR
If there is a blue panel and a white panel then double click on “Network
Connections”
-The Network Connections Window will open. When it does, click on “Create A new connection” ( in the blue panel on the left hand side of screen)
-Network Connection Wizard window will open
Click the “Next > “ Button
-Select the “Connect to Internet” Option
Click the “Next > “ Button
-Select the “Set up my connection manually” Option
Click the “Next > “ Button
-Select the “Connect using Dial Up Modem” Option
Click the “Next > “ Button
-Type ‘EIDNet’ in the ISP name textbox
Click the “Next > “ Button
-Type ‘3625702’ in the phone number textbox (you can cancel call waiting by entering the appropriate code in front of the number eg. Telus *70)
Click the “Next > “ Button
-Select “Anyone’s Use” Option
Click the “Next > " Button
-Type your username, password and password again in the appropriate textboxes.
Check all three checkboxes ( or leave checked if they already are)
Click the “Next >" Button
-Check the “Add a connection shortcut to my desktop” checkbox
Click “Finish”
-You should now be able to connect by double clicking on the icon on
your desktop.
